I distinctly remember watching a documentary on Doordarshan around 1980, in which various audio and video snippets were played and needless to say the voice was captivating and mesmerizing to say the list; and of course the music itself. That was when I got to know about this great vocalist and with the limited choices as a student, it was a few more years before I could lay my hands on commercial recordings of him.
Since then and with the unlimited resources on the web that we have today, I have been able to enjoy his recordings regularly. The recordings that leave me spell bound and wanting to listen over and over are yaman, marwa and lalit.
Here are some recordings that I have and hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
