The model I had used for accessing the various artists thru drop downs was getting unwieldy and so I decide it was time to reorganize the menus and went thru the process of making the changes. Now, there are pages specific to each group where you have list of artists or collections that one can click on to access the pages.
This reorganization has resulted in the URL’s to the various pages to change; so any links that you may have saved and the links that I have in my previous blog posts will not work. Please access the pages thru the menus at the top of the page.
I also added a bunch of concerts of D. K. Pattammal – enjoy.
In Ravikiran’s Fort High School Bangalore 1989 concert, you have a question mark for the song following Dayamado Ranga. It is ‘Ninnu Sevinchina’ in Yadhukulakambodhi by Subbaraya Sastri.
It would be helpful if you could allow for comments after each concert.
High regards,
WordPress does not allow comments within sections of the page unfortunately..
Please post the details of Ravikiran’s Pittsburgh 1988 concert (with V Thyagarajan & Palghat Kunjumani).
In N Ravikiran’s Washigton, DC 1988 concert, I think the Sarasangi krithi is Neekela Dayaradu by Ramaswami Sivan. Ravikiran announced the composer as Maha Vaidhyanatha Iyer. They are brothers.
Chitraveena Ravikiran has confirmed to me by E-mail that the composer of Neekela Dayaradu – Sarasangi is indeed Ramaswami Sivan.
Thanks for finding the mistakes and additions to the information on these pages.
Many a time, I am going by what has been documented already for the track; listening to each one is quite time consuming (I do it, but there are times I skip and that is when errors trickle in).
This is my humble attempt to identify the krithis in Ravikiran’s Pittsburgh 1988 concert. He announced the songs and ragas for the first few songs and then stopped announcing.
